Meridian Bank

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about accounts, transfers and fees.

How do I open a Meridian Bank account?

Open the homepage, choose Open account, enter your full name, email address and a password of at least six characters. Your checking and savings accounts are created straight away.

What accounts do I get?

Every member gets a checking account and a savings account, each with its own balance, plus a Meridian Sapphire card shown in the app.

Where do I find my account and routing number?

Open the Receive page in the app. It shows the account and routing number for your checking or savings account with a copy button for each.

Which transfer destinations are supported?

You can send to an international bank account, PayPal, Wise or Cash App. Each destination asks only for the details it needs.

What fee applies to transfers and withdrawals?

An external fee of 5% of the requested amount applies. It is shown in a clear breakdown before you confirm, it is paid separately, and it is not deducted from your available balance.

Why does my transfer or withdrawal show as pending?

Transfers and withdrawals are submitted with a pending status until the external fee payment is confirmed. You can follow the status in your transaction history.

Can another member see my balance?

No. Balances, transactions and notifications are stored per account and protected by database access rules, so you only ever see your own money.

Can I install Meridian Bank as an app?

Yes. On Android tap Install app on the sign-in screen; on iPhone use Share, then Add to Home Screen. The app then opens full screen from your home screen.
